Fillies and Gentlecolts of the United States, I appreciate your taking the time to read this, as it is a matter of the utmost importance to our national security. I am not an official of the Department of Education, however I have the express permission of Secretary of Education Feefaroni to publish this under their tag.

I realize that I tend to go on a bit, so I’ll be breaking this down into two sections. One that expresses the important points of this article near the top with analysis and explanation for each point at the bottom. But, before I get to that, I should explain why I’m taking the time to put all of this down, for everyone.

So, this ended up being a little longer than I expected. So, it’s going to have to be three...

Articles.

Yeah...

Not to worry. The important stuff is all in this article. The two follow-ups will detail analysis and explanation and can be thought of as reference material, should you want a greater understanding of each point. So, lets get down to it before I get carried away.

A few days ago, we got into a pretty intense fight over Canadian East Coast and the main source of damage was not Poland, Sweden or anyone we normally think of as ‘heavy hitters’. It was Ukraine and, indeed, they did more damage for the Resistance than Poland, Sweden, United Kingdom, Serbia, Slovenia, Canada, Israel, Ireland, Spain, Russia, Croatia and even the USA (Yes, resistance fighters) COMBINED. We won after 14 rounds and 28 grueling hours of a knock-down, drag-out fight. But, frankly, I don’t think it’s a victory we should be particularly proud of. Overall 60% of all damage was on our side. That’s after Omega made ‘kicking our a**’ a Priority, about 16 hours in.

Frankly, they made us look stupid as hell.

I cannot express how irritating it was to be supplying for Hell on Wheels for hours into the morning and being as everywhere as I could be, telling people that they need to fight this round, seeing huge damage roll in through those last minutes by Romania, Indonesia, Hungary and Russia, only for it to be lost by a paltry 100k damage. Then, not five minutes into the next round, seeing 400k damage done by American Citizens. My rage was immense.

Now, I understand that there are other factors at work. We have a younger population and there are certainly gaps in leadership and programs; but our population grows stronger every day and I happen to know that steps are being taken to rectify the kinks that exist in the system. I’ll even talk about some of them a bit, later. But we must take personal responsibility here, as well. These European MU’s operate like clockwork and, time and again, the Ukranian MU’s and assorted Omega supporters dropped up to 10 Million damage in under a minute to eek out another round over us.

It’s interesting to note that the Ukraine is roughly ⅓ our size, in terms of raw population, but managed to be so troublesome. Keep that in mind when you consider that we may someday soon find ourselves going toe to toe with Poland, who is roughly three times our size. That day may never come, but we must face the fact that if we do not get our s*** together, sooner or later we are going to find ourselves wiped again. Frequently when doing Hell on Wheels distributions, we hear complaints that we are not supplying everyone. As much as I agree, something needs to fill that low strength supply gap, this ‘What’s in it for me?’ attitude is going to be our undoing. What’s in it for you is having a functional government to complain about. That’s a luxury, believe it or not, and it’s not a luxury Romania, Russia or Indonesia are taking for granted. Those same people, people who were not too long ago opposing us on the battlefield, pushed harder for us than many of our citizens did.

It is my hope that this is not greed or laziness at work but rather that is simply ignorance and complacency left over from these last couple months that we have been left to ourselves by the international community, while we rebuilt. It is in that hope, that I am writing this. Please take it to heart, knowing that those who would conquer us have taken it to their hearts some time ago and now live by it.

1. Subscribe, Read and Vote DoD Orders every day.

2. Do not fight immediately after day change.

3. When you have the time, get on IRC, get in #sim-us.strikes and wait to be pinged. Even if you don’t qualify for supplies

4. If you have to go and will be back before the next day change, hold your damage.

5. Resistance Wars are not ‘gimmies’ and should not be ignored.

6. THE BATTLE IS NOT SAFE, EVER, EVER, EVER

7. Do not fight unless it is within the last 5 minutes of a round.

8. Do not fight if the battle is being won and there is no enemy damage coming in. (Being on IRC in the strike room is very helpful)

9. Watch battles, even if you’ve already done all the damage you can that day.

10. Do not complain to the Hell on Wheels staff that you can’t get supplies because of your Strength. It’s not their decision.

11. #1 Battle Priority is always what’s being ordered in #sim-us.strikes, followed by your MU’s orders (If you’re in one), followed by DoD Newspaper orders.

12. Don’t half-ass it just because you’re not fighting an ‘American’ battle.

13. If you can afford them, buy weapons over gifts.

14. Buy tickets and move to fight, know where to move and if you aren’t sure, shout or ask.

15. Don’t fight against the US or Allies to get a Battle Hero. It’s a dick move and you know it.

16. Regardless of what you think of the President, Congress, our Allies or whatever else. do your part.

17. If you ever aren’t sure about anything, ping someone with ops in #sim-us.strikes, that’s what we’re here for.

Obviously, these are guidelines. I can't and don't expect everyone to do these things all the time. I sure don't. But we do need to put these into practice, in so much as we can. If it interferes with your real life, don't do it. But, these are flexible enough, broad enough and simple enough that I think each of us can be some of them most of the time.

As stated earlier, I will be posting two follow-up articles expanding on each of these points. So, please, be patient and don't bombard the comments with arguments or questions until I've had a chance to post them. Thanks everyone for your time.

About the game:

USA as a world power? In E-Sim it is possible!

In E-Sim we have a huge, living world, which is a mirror copy of the Earth. Well, maybe not completely mirrored, because the balance of power in this virtual world looks a bit different than in real life. In E-Sim, USA does not have to be a world superpower, It can be efficiently managed as a much smaller country that has entrepreneurial citizens that support it's foundation. Everything depends on the players themselves and how they decide to shape the political map of the game.

Work for the good of your country and see it rise to an empire.

Activities in this game are divided into several modules. First is the economy as a citizen in a country of your choice you must work to earn money, which you will get to spend for example, on food or purchase of weapons which are critical for your progress as a fighter. You will work in either private companies which are owned by players or government companies which are owned by the state. After progressing in the game you will finally get the opportunity to set up your own business and hire other players. If it prospers, we can even change it into a joint-stock company and enter the stock market and get even more money in this way.

In E-Sim, international wars are nothing out of the ordinary.

Become an influential politician.

The second module is a politics. Just like in real life politics in E-Sim are an extremely powerful tool that can be used for your own purposes. From time to time there are elections in the game in which you will not only vote, but also have the ability to run for the head of the party you're in. You can also apply for congress, where once elected you will be given the right to vote on laws proposed by your fellow congress members or your president and propose laws yourself. Voting on laws is important for your country as it can shape the lives of those around you. You can also try to become the head of a given party, and even take part in presidential elections and decide on the shape of the foreign policy of a given state (for example, who to declare war on). Career in politics is obviously not easy and in order to succeed in it, you have to have a good plan and compete for the votes of voters.

You can go bankrupt or become a rich man while playing the stock market.

The international war.

The last and probably the most important module is military. In E-Sim, countries are constantly fighting each other for control over territories which in return grant them access to more valuable raw materials. For this purpose, they form alliances, they fight international wars, but they also have to deal with, for example, uprisings in conquered countries or civil wars, which may explode on their territory. You can also take part in these clashes, although you are also given the opportunity to lead a life as a pacifist who focuses on other activities in the game (for example, running a successful newspaper or selling products).

At the auction you can sell or buy your dream inventory.

E-Sim is a unique browser game. It's creators ensured realistic representation of the mechanisms present in the real world and gave all power to the players who shape the image of the virtual Earth according to their own. So come and join them and help your country achieve its full potential.
