Recently the exceptional Feefaroni published three informative articles on behalf of the Department of Education.

The first discussed the ins and outs of irc chat
The second advised on how to speak your mind in our nations' forum
The third explained how we can all kick some butt

I am glad our President had the good sense to appoint Feefaroni as our nations top teacher as I can think of no one better to education us all on how the technical and practical side of this game works. I certainly could not do a better job than her in that respect but I thought I would take some time and talk about the proper philosophy and attitude to have when playing this game.

I know a little bit about the best way to tackle a game such as this as I have played browser based games for several years and I have made a lot of errors in my game play. The best thing about screwing up is that you can learn how to play better and share your mistakes with others in the form of wisdom. Here are three quick tips that can help you play this game better, longer and stronger:

1. If you are not having fun when you play...don't play. This is a game, and while we all want to compete and achieve our goals, treat it like a game. If you find yourself getting angry or frustrated just log off and come back later...the game will still be here when you get back I promise. Nothing that happens here is worth negative emotions and I can assure you that your teammates (your nation, your political party, your military units) are not logging on to get yelled at.

2. Limit the time that you play the game each day. The simply beauty of browser games is that they are designed so that anyone can play and make a difference for their team just by logging on for five minutes every day. The "meta" game that often is developed by players can be highly rewarding but never forget the fact that staring at your screen for hours waiting for something to happen is unhealthy and will burn you out. Sending supplies to soldiers or citizens is a great help to your team but you do not need to spend hours doing it. Debating the future of our nation as a Senator can be a great help to your team but you do not need to spend hours doing it. Developing our next big attack on our enemies is a great help to your team but you do not need to spend hours doing it. The best way to help our team is to grow our active population as large as possible through recruiting people to play and getting them involved in the larger game. More people means less work for the rest of us.

3. When you are first starting out make sure you dabble in all areas of the game, then pick one you find really fun. Join a party, Military Unit, and start talking to citizens in other nations. Then write some articles about what you have done. It sounds like a lot of work but trust me it is not. All you have to do to get started is talk to people. Talk to the members of each party and find the one that works for you. Talk to members of current Military Units and ask to join the one that works for you. If that one is full get some friends and start a new one. Get on IRC and talk to citizens of other countries, even if they are from "enemy" nations chat them up. It is a lot of fun and can be extremely helpful to our team to have active citizens with connections in other nations. When you have a couple of experiences under your belt write about them in your newspaper. It is a great way to make friends and education citizens.

If we all follow these 3 tips we can go a long way to making the USA the strong, unified and fun. If you have any questions or just want to say hello send me a message. If you like what you read please vote for this article and subscribe to my newspaper.

Through unity we will make our nation victorious. Through dedication we will make our nation the envy of the world. Through knowledge will make our nation great. Unity, Dedication, Knowledge.

About the game:

USA as a world power? In E-Sim it is possible!

In E-Sim we have a huge, living world, which is a mirror copy of the Earth. Well, maybe not completely mirrored, because the balance of power in this virtual world looks a bit different than in real life. In E-Sim, USA does not have to be a world superpower, It can be efficiently managed as a much smaller country that has entrepreneurial citizens that support it's foundation. Everything depends on the players themselves and how they decide to shape the political map of the game.

Work for the good of your country and see it rise to an empire.

Activities in this game are divided into several modules. First is the economy as a citizen in a country of your choice you must work to earn money, which you will get to spend for example, on food or purchase of weapons which are critical for your progress as a fighter. You will work in either private companies which are owned by players or government companies which are owned by the state. After progressing in the game you will finally get the opportunity to set up your own business and hire other players. If it prospers, we can even change it into a joint-stock company and enter the stock market and get even more money in this way.

In E-Sim, international wars are nothing out of the ordinary.

Become an influential politician.

The second module is a politics. Just like in real life politics in E-Sim are an extremely powerful tool that can be used for your own purposes. From time to time there are elections in the game in which you will not only vote, but also have the ability to run for the head of the party you're in. You can also apply for congress, where once elected you will be given the right to vote on laws proposed by your fellow congress members or your president and propose laws yourself. Voting on laws is important for your country as it can shape the lives of those around you. You can also try to become the head of a given party, and even take part in presidential elections and decide on the shape of the foreign policy of a given state (for example, who to declare war on). Career in politics is obviously not easy and in order to succeed in it, you have to have a good plan and compete for the votes of voters.

You can go bankrupt or become a rich man while playing the stock market.

The international war.

The last and probably the most important module is military. In E-Sim, countries are constantly fighting each other for control over territories which in return grant them access to more valuable raw materials. For this purpose, they form alliances, they fight international wars, but they also have to deal with, for example, uprisings in conquered countries or civil wars, which may explode on their territory. You can also take part in these clashes, although you are also given the opportunity to lead a life as a pacifist who focuses on other activities in the game (for example, running a successful newspaper or selling products).

At the auction you can sell or buy your dream inventory.

E-Sim is a unique browser game. It's creators ensured realistic representation of the mechanisms present in the real world and gave all power to the players who shape the image of the virtual Earth according to their own. So come and join them and help your country achieve its full potential.
