Ladies and mentlegen! I have a special treat for you, this issue, as I very recently completed an in-depth interview with our very own Snowball the Dinosaur , the eUSA (Deputy) Secretary of Defense! Highlights of this interview include a look behind the curtains during yesterday's very intense battle for New South Wales, government budgets and funding, and instructions directly from the eUSA Department of Defense on how each and every citizen can do their part in making this country truly into a force to be reckoned with. Read on!

LotB: I'd like to thank you for joining me here, Pike, and for giving such a great opportunity to quiz one of our nation's top military officials! First off, I know you're the Deputy Secretary of Defense, but what exactly does that mean? What's a typical day on the job like?

Pike:
You are correct. Well, I am not sure what it should actually mean, but I can tell you what I do. FilthyRich will also tell you that I should be the SoD, and him the dSoD, but pretty much I do all the grunt work for him. For example, I am now the US Army Military Unit leader. I have the Army MU commune set up and I supply the US Army Commune workers. I also attempt to organize events like today's mass-attack, for NSW, and distribute weapons/food/moving tickets from the Department of Defense Org. If totally necessary I can produce the DoD orders from the DoD Org. So my day of eSim usually consists of a lot of checking and supplying.

LotB: I'm glad you mentioned today's battle for New South Wales; can you let us in on any behind-the-scenes work you were involved with? How far in advance did we plan this, or was it just a spur of the moment thing? And how did the President and his other staff feel about it afterwards?

Pike:
I was in the DoD org for about 2 hours getting supplies to people, and shouting for people to join the IRC room to get supplies. I planned it with about 00:02 left in Round 13 of NSW, I don't know when Liquid Homicide decided we should do it. So for me it was similar to jumping on a horse and haulin' butt after an enemy. Obviously, it was pretty disappointing that we were unable to help Australia out, but I think it was a good thing that we were there in case they needed us, and our citizens got to see what IRC is like. Having said that, we were ecstatic about the victory!

LotB: Sounds like a job well done! Is there anything the average US citizen can do to better contribute to our country's effectiveness in war?

Pike:
Read and follow the DoD Orders , and know who to listen to. Some citizens think they know best and will tell you to do something that counteracts what we have planned. If you want to know where to go with something, PM someone in the cabinet, and if you get the wrong person we will direct you to the right person. Also when I, in my capacity as dSoD, tell you to get on IRC for supplies, get yourself on IRC for supplies! In case you don't know who's in the cabinet that you can contact, here's a list for you:

PotUS: Liquid Homicide

vPotUS: Leroy Combs

Chief of Staff: Feefaroni

MoForeign Affairs: Vladimir

SoDefense: Filthy Rich

dSoDefense: Pikezh638

SoTreasury: Lars Thunderfist

SoInterior: Wreckbeard

SoEducation: Feefaroni

Press Secretary: Alf Landon

LotB: You mentioned handing out weapons and food to soldiers, can you tell us what kind of budget DoD has? Is that likely to go up, now that we have a peg helping to bring in more government revenue?

Pike:
Well as for as I know we don't have one. We are just now getting things in line for doing these kinds of things. I think we are looking at doing a weekly strike, starting sometime soon, but nothing has been confirmed yet.

LotB: If you don't have a budget, where is the money coming from for all these weapons and food that you're handing out? Surely our Most Divine Leader isn't forcing you to pay for it out of pocket?!

Pike:
Not having money and not having a budget are two different things We are able to get some supplies from various benefactors, and some people even donate things at cost, or for super cheap.

LotB: How very patriotic! Now I feel bad for putting all my money into the best dang MU in the country. Well, to wrap this up, do you have anything you'd like to say to anyone who happens to read this interview in the news?

Pike:
If you are interested in joining a MU (Military Unit) talk to its leader; we know having to pay an entry fee sucks, but remember, we had to do it too! US Army has a few open slots at a discounted rate, if you want to sign up!

LotB: That's a very good point; being a member of a MU not only gives you bonus damage each fight, which helps you rank up faster, it also increases the efficiency and response capability of the eUSA's fighting forces!

With that, I'll let you get back to work, Pike. I know you're a busy man. Thank you so much for taking time out of your day for this interview!

Pike:
No problem at all. Keep up the good work.

About the game:

USA as a world power? In E-Sim it is possible!

In E-Sim we have a huge, living world, which is a mirror copy of the Earth. Well, maybe not completely mirrored, because the balance of power in this virtual world looks a bit different than in real life. In E-Sim, USA does not have to be a world superpower, It can be efficiently managed as a much smaller country that has entrepreneurial citizens that support it's foundation. Everything depends on the players themselves and how they decide to shape the political map of the game.

Work for the good of your country and see it rise to an empire.

Activities in this game are divided into several modules. First is the economy as a citizen in a country of your choice you must work to earn money, which you will get to spend for example, on food or purchase of weapons which are critical for your progress as a fighter. You will work in either private companies which are owned by players or government companies which are owned by the state. After progressing in the game you will finally get the opportunity to set up your own business and hire other players. If it prospers, we can even change it into a joint-stock company and enter the stock market and get even more money in this way.

In E-Sim, international wars are nothing out of the ordinary.

Become an influential politician.

The second module is a politics. Just like in real life politics in E-Sim are an extremely powerful tool that can be used for your own purposes. From time to time there are elections in the game in which you will not only vote, but also have the ability to run for the head of the party you're in. You can also apply for congress, where once elected you will be given the right to vote on laws proposed by your fellow congress members or your president and propose laws yourself. Voting on laws is important for your country as it can shape the lives of those around you. You can also try to become the head of a given party, and even take part in presidential elections and decide on the shape of the foreign policy of a given state (for example, who to declare war on). Career in politics is obviously not easy and in order to succeed in it, you have to have a good plan and compete for the votes of voters.

You can go bankrupt or become a rich man while playing the stock market.

The international war.

The last and probably the most important module is military. In E-Sim, countries are constantly fighting each other for control over territories which in return grant them access to more valuable raw materials. For this purpose, they form alliances, they fight international wars, but they also have to deal with, for example, uprisings in conquered countries or civil wars, which may explode on their territory. You can also take part in these clashes, although you are also given the opportunity to lead a life as a pacifist who focuses on other activities in the game (for example, running a successful newspaper or selling products).

At the auction you can sell or buy your dream inventory.

E-Sim is a unique browser game. It's creators ensured realistic representation of the mechanisms present in the real world and gave all power to the players who shape the image of the virtual Earth according to their own. So come and join them and help your country achieve its full potential.
