Hello Canada!

I come to you today to discuss a few important events that have happened recently, and to hopefully present for you a more accurate picture of exactly what's been going on than some of you have undoubtedly received. I would be more than happy to discuss the contents of this article with anyone, either by private message or in the comments section, but please hear me out with an open mind.

As most of you know, the USA recently left the VETO alliance in favor of becoming a more neutral nation and pursuing goals that more closely lie with our interests. However, as has been iterated by my government multiple times, this does not mean that we intend to leave our friends high and dry; we continue to stick by countries like France and Sweden, that have shown us great friendship stemming from beyond the bounds and strictures of any formal alliance. Simply put: our friends are our friends, regardless of our status in the international community.

We used to regard Canada as a friend, too. We aided you in battles, we met with your leaders and strategized, we even coordinated damage with you and the rest of VETO. We had a good thing going, until libertines came along, at least.

In the days leading up to the dramatic collapse of relations between our two countries, the USA received word from the UK that they might consider releasing control of Canada East Coast (Canada's high grain region, occupied for a long time by the UK) to the USA. We have been great friends with the UK for quite some time, and had been trying to get them to agree to something like this for a long while, so we were understandably pretty ecstatic when we heard the news. Unfortunately, the UK, being our friend, only agreed to release CEC to us; they would not agree to return the region to Canada. We eagerly accepted their offer, for obvious reasons, and I was dispatched to talk to Libertine about the plan, and to offer to pay a rental fee, as is only just. Our two countries were friendly with each other, after all; it was only fair that we do what we could to help Canada out. However, when I approached Libertine to make a rental offer, I got a surprisingly irrational reaction. You can view a log of my initial conversation with Libertine here .

I realize that 10 gold is an unacceptably low price, but that is why I started out with it; I had hoped that we might negotiate a compromise, probably ending up somewhere in the neighborhood of 30 gold per month. I'll save the economic arguments on what the region is worth, in terms of number of companies and potential tax revenue, for better heads than my own, but this figure was agreed by the Secretary-General of VETO to be a very fair price. Perhaps I should not have been so hasty in stating that we would take the region regardless of whether or not Canada agreed to accept a rental fee, but our deal to take CEC was with the UK, not Canada; Canada did not own the region, had no means of standing up to the UK's forces and gaining control of the region, and could not hold on to the region even if it did somehow manage to take control. Our deal to take CEC was with the UK, our deal with Canada was to be to rent it. Therefore, it was reasoned, CEC might as well be placed in the USA's hands, where it would be better off than if it were to remain under UK rule. Anyway, after my conversation with Libertine ended, he brought the issue up in the alliance HQ channel; there, it very quickly became apparent that he was not acting rationally; in fact, at times, he was deliberately insulting. Before I continue, please read over the log of the discussion in the alliance HQ .

Allow me to pull out a few choice bits to illustrate my point that Libertine is personally and almost exclusively responsible for the collapse of relations between the USA and Canada:

[16:15] Libertine Bottom line is clearly the US has more loyalty to the UK and Sweden than with VETO

Throughout the entire discussion, you can see Libertine's constant attempts to malign us; this is merely the first example of such behavior. You are welcome to peruse the log and discover the rest.

[16:20] Libertine You don't remember the coversation where you told me if we took CEC over that you would crush us like a junebug>?

What Liquid Oxygen really said was: "I would crush you like a junebug if you were PTOd by Polish." This is a blatant lie on Libertine's part and, honestly, a pathetic attempt to manipulate the other alliance members into thinking of the USA as a bunch of power-crazed and bloodthirstily villains.

The real kicker, however, occurred near the beginning of the discussion, with a revelation from Liquid Oxygen:
[15:54] Liquid_Oxygen http://mibpaste.com/vHiGRc
[15:54] Liquid_Oxygen *plop*
[15:54] Liquid_Oxygen Care to explain that, then?
[15:54] Liquid_Oxygen What we were working on was all above board, and the SGs knew it.

[15:57] Liquid_Oxygen Point being, the Dutch are currently at war with France, who we view as an ally. We also sent a feeler offering rental. I agree the original offer was lowballed, but selling people out to ALPHA in the middle of a war? C'mon man.

This quote, I think, quite succinctly demonstrates the depth of Libertine's two-faced hypocrisy. He tries to stir up drama about the US' exploration of relations with new countries (which was done with the knowledge and approval of both VETO Secretaries-General), meanwhile he is carrying out secret meetings behind his allies' backs with the very people that are fighting tooth-and-nail against France, Canada's friend and a member of VETO.

This log continues on for twelve pages, and there are many many more examples of Libertine's treachery and deliberately insulting behavior. I would highly suggest that anyone who has formed a negative opinion of the USA over the past couple weeks take a few minutes and read over these logs. I believe the logs make it obvious that Libertine has deliberately steered public opinion into a negative attitude towards the USA; he has consistently been proven to be not only manipulative, but also scheming and treacherous. He ignored a logical offer of a rental agreement for Canada East Coast, and instead hurled insults back at us. He plotted with his nation's and alliance's enemies, betraying Canada's friends in the process.

To those who have recently formed a negative opinion of the USA, I ask you this: how did this opinion form? Did it arise from a conversation with Libertine? From one of his close associates? Is it beyond the realm of possibility that he has manipulated you into holding such an opinion?

If this is allowed to continue, I cannot help but conclude that Libertine's end-game is war between the USA and Canada. Let's try and avoid this, shall we?

As US Chief of Staff and Speaker of the House, (along with the Vice President) second in authority only to the President of the United States of America, I do affirm that we once were friends, and could possibly be again. We are still willing to discuss a potential rental agreement, although I will refuse to treat with Libertine. As I stated before, I would be eager to discuss the issues laid out in this article either via private message, or in the comments section. I am confident that, with a little effort and a few less obstacles, we can overcome our setbacks and work to restore our relations to bro-tier status

About the game:

USA as a world power? In E-Sim it is possible!

In E-Sim we have a huge, living world, which is a mirror copy of the Earth. Well, maybe not completely mirrored, because the balance of power in this virtual world looks a bit different than in real life. In E-Sim, USA does not have to be a world superpower, It can be efficiently managed as a much smaller country that has entrepreneurial citizens that support it's foundation. Everything depends on the players themselves and how they decide to shape the political map of the game.

Work for the good of your country and see it rise to an empire.

Activities in this game are divided into several modules. First is the economy as a citizen in a country of your choice you must work to earn money, which you will get to spend for example, on food or purchase of weapons which are critical for your progress as a fighter. You will work in either private companies which are owned by players or government companies which are owned by the state. After progressing in the game you will finally get the opportunity to set up your own business and hire other players. If it prospers, we can even change it into a joint-stock company and enter the stock market and get even more money in this way.

In E-Sim, international wars are nothing out of the ordinary.

Become an influential politician.

The second module is a politics. Just like in real life politics in E-Sim are an extremely powerful tool that can be used for your own purposes. From time to time there are elections in the game in which you will not only vote, but also have the ability to run for the head of the party you're in. You can also apply for congress, where once elected you will be given the right to vote on laws proposed by your fellow congress members or your president and propose laws yourself. Voting on laws is important for your country as it can shape the lives of those around you. You can also try to become the head of a given party, and even take part in presidential elections and decide on the shape of the foreign policy of a given state (for example, who to declare war on). Career in politics is obviously not easy and in order to succeed in it, you have to have a good plan and compete for the votes of voters.

You can go bankrupt or become a rich man while playing the stock market.

The international war.

The last and probably the most important module is military. In E-Sim, countries are constantly fighting each other for control over territories which in return grant them access to more valuable raw materials. For this purpose, they form alliances, they fight international wars, but they also have to deal with, for example, uprisings in conquered countries or civil wars, which may explode on their territory. You can also take part in these clashes, although you are also given the opportunity to lead a life as a pacifist who focuses on other activities in the game (for example, running a successful newspaper or selling products).

At the auction you can sell or buy your dream inventory.

E-Sim is a unique browser game. It's creators ensured realistic representation of the mechanisms present in the real world and gave all power to the players who shape the image of the virtual Earth according to their own. So come and join them and help your country achieve its full potential.
