As I'm sure everyone is well aware, the dissolution of Phoenix is now a fact. To be honest, I'm actually surprised that it functioned as an entity for as long as it did, despite, or rather in spite of, its glaring flaws. Phoenix was big. Very big. For all the constant complaints about how overpowered G7 is, Phoenix collectively actually had a higher damage potential, had it been utilized properly. This leads us to our first part of critical analysis: Proper utilization of any alliance leads to successes via communication and more importantly coordination, along with teamwork. The staff size needed to cover all time zones for an alliance the size of Phoenix would and should have been staggering, to insure that each country's MUs are hitting important battlefields together. Unfortunately, it seemed like the stars would have to align, and people would have to move both heaven and earth in order to make sure that would happen.

Silesia and Alaska are two examples that I hold up as Phoenix's true potential...the problem therein lies in the time table between both of those major victories. But let's get down to brass tacks. When you have an alliance that big, there is no way in hell you're going to be able to address all problems, needs, complaints, etc, adequately. It's literally a lumbering beast. I would equate Phoenix as a giant, blindly lumbering about. Sure, when it actually connects with a blow, the damage is pretty hardcore, but to a smaller, more nimble opponent, they can easily evade it, as it flails around.

There are some countries I still have lingering respect for, Greece being one of them, Russia being another, but frankly, we're long past the point of being able to repair the damage Phoenix did when they failed so spectacularly at something anyone in any position of authority should have skills in. Human relations. For all the talk about backstabbing, (which is prevalent in the Phoenix/Pro-Phoenix camps, despite the fact that many of the countries complaining, we never even had a personal relationship with EVER, IN MY ENTIRE TIME IN THIS GAME.) Slovenia, Israel, Finland, Serbia, Croatia, and Germany being notable examples of countries that the US has never had any interaction with on a personal level, aside from a few real life Serbians and Slovenians who made the USA their home temporarily.

The real lesson the former Phoenix countries should take away from this is simple: Stop trying to shove a bunch of mismatched puzzle pieces together, hoping they'll fit into a bigger picture. Start small, build mutual trust and respect, then work your way up. It worked for Sigma, it works with G7, and it'll work for you too.

Recognizing our notable citizens!

Today, I'm going to do something new. I feel like I should start spotlighting some of our best citizens, in order to honor them for their hard work and achievements. I'd like to enact the very first Godking's Knighthood proclamation, in order to bring more attention to the people who work their butts off in service to the realm.

This article would like to officially recognize Spike Spiegel . Being of Lithuanian persuasion in real life, RealD has never faltered since immigrating to the USA, quite a few months ago now. He's been a great service to our government, in the mentorship and Interior departments, and you rarely hear him complain. He insures that newbies are fed, newbies are given directions to finding help, and is a tremendous asset overall.

Some may doubt him because of his real life nationality, but RealD has always been a model citizen in his time here, and I feel that many actual real life US citizens should honestly use him as an example on how to succeed at this game AND get more involved with shaping our nation's goals and how to achieve them.

For this service, I name Spike Spiegel a Knight of Homicide, and a real American hero. Thank you, RealD. Your service will not be forgotten, even should you ever decide to move to greener pastures in the future.

Yeah, my knights are this badass.

The Last Word

I know we have many new citizens over the last few weeks, so if you want any solid advice from me, feel free to PM me in game. I know it can seem daunting to get off the ground at first, but don't let that deter you. Once you crack the early game doldrums, things get much better.

Join an MU, get involved with your political parties, write awesome articles. It's how most of us get our starts. Heck, make funny comics. We all find our niches, and there's one waiting for you, too.

Thanks for listening to my rambling.

May your paths to success be short and fulfilling.

About the game:

USA as a world power? In E-Sim it is possible!

In E-Sim we have a huge, living world, which is a mirror copy of the Earth. Well, maybe not completely mirrored, because the balance of power in this virtual world looks a bit different than in real life. In E-Sim, USA does not have to be a world superpower, It can be efficiently managed as a much smaller country that has entrepreneurial citizens that support it's foundation. Everything depends on the players themselves and how they decide to shape the political map of the game.

Work for the good of your country and see it rise to an empire.

Activities in this game are divided into several modules. First is the economy as a citizen in a country of your choice you must work to earn money, which you will get to spend for example, on food or purchase of weapons which are critical for your progress as a fighter. You will work in either private companies which are owned by players or government companies which are owned by the state. After progressing in the game you will finally get the opportunity to set up your own business and hire other players. If it prospers, we can even change it into a joint-stock company and enter the stock market and get even more money in this way.

In E-Sim, international wars are nothing out of the ordinary.

Become an influential politician.

The second module is a politics. Just like in real life politics in E-Sim are an extremely powerful tool that can be used for your own purposes. From time to time there are elections in the game in which you will not only vote, but also have the ability to run for the head of the party you're in. You can also apply for congress, where once elected you will be given the right to vote on laws proposed by your fellow congress members or your president and propose laws yourself. Voting on laws is important for your country as it can shape the lives of those around you. You can also try to become the head of a given party, and even take part in presidential elections and decide on the shape of the foreign policy of a given state (for example, who to declare war on). Career in politics is obviously not easy and in order to succeed in it, you have to have a good plan and compete for the votes of voters.

You can go bankrupt or become a rich man while playing the stock market.

The international war.

The last and probably the most important module is military. In E-Sim, countries are constantly fighting each other for control over territories which in return grant them access to more valuable raw materials. For this purpose, they form alliances, they fight international wars, but they also have to deal with, for example, uprisings in conquered countries or civil wars, which may explode on their territory. You can also take part in these clashes, although you are also given the opportunity to lead a life as a pacifist who focuses on other activities in the game (for example, running a successful newspaper or selling products).

At the auction you can sell or buy your dream inventory.

E-Sim is a unique browser game. It's creators ensured realistic representation of the mechanisms present in the real world and gave all power to the players who shape the image of the virtual Earth according to their own. So come and join them and help your country achieve its full potential.
